Camera Access
Frugalyze requires access to your device's camera to function as intended. The camera is used exclusively for scanning barcodes on products to decode their information. Here is how we handle camera access and the data obtained through it:
- Purpose of Camera Access: The camera is utilized solely for the purpose of scanning product barcodes. This allows Frugalyze to decode the barcode and look up its associated data in our database, which is then returned to you with product information, nutritional facts, and more.
- No Storage of Images or Videos: Frugalyze does not store, save, or share any images or videos captured by your device's camera. All scanning processes are conducted in real-time, and the images captured are not retained by the app after the barcode has been decoded.
- Permission Requirement: Camera access permission is requested only when you first attempt to use the barcode scanning feature. You have the option to grant or deny this permission. If denied, you will not be able to use the barcode scanning functionality of the app.
- Privacy and Security: We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Access to your camera is managed strictly within the context of scanning barcodes and does not involve the collection, use, or dissemination of personal information.
Security
We value your trust in providing us your personal information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. However, no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
